What is recorded here

The precise location of a medieval mill within the townland of Kilduff has not been identified. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Sir Maurice Hurley of Knocklong an 'Irish Papist' was the owner of Kilduff with 'a castle [LI024-050----] in repaire and a mill thereunto belongeing' (Simington 1938, 43). Compiled by: Caimin O’Brien Date of upload: 2 November 2020

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
