What is recorded here

In gently undulating, rough pasture, 25m E of a townland boundary with Kilmacogue. Not depicted on OS ihistoric maps. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2008 and described as a circular-shaped area (4m N-S; 5m E-W) defined by a fosse (Wth 2.55m; H 0.17m) which is best preserved from SE-S-W and outer bank (Wth 2.7-4.6m; int. H 0.17-0.22m; ext. H 0.05-0.16m) from NE-E-S-W, which is broad and difficult to define on exterior from SE-S-SW. The interior is dry in contrast to a waterlogged fosse. Monument is disturbed by old drainage activity from W-N-NE, where the ground remains very wet. Monument is visible as a faint circular-shaped cropmark on OSi orthophoto taken 2005-2012, although is not visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and seems to be within an unplanted area of forestry on Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018. See attached Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018. Compiled by: Alison McQueen and Vera Rahilly Date of upload: 14 October 2020
