What is recorded here

On flat former pasture now partially covered by a forestry plantation, abutting the townland boundary (a tributary of the Reask River) with Bohernagraga on the W. A ring-barrow (LI024-202----) is located 250m to WSW. The site is not depicted on OSi historic maps. The enclosure is partially visible as a curving earthwork surviving on the field surface on the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and as a boundary between deciduous and coniferous trees on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 47 AP 4/3673) as a portion of an enclosure (ext. dims. c. 93m N-S; 74m E-W). The enclosure is visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 25/03/2017 and 18/11/2018. See attached Bruff survey image showing the ring-barrow labelled Bruff 47 and Google Earth orthoimages Compiled by: Edmond O’Donovan Date of upload: 9 September 2020
