On a gentle NW-facing slope, in improved pasture, 30m W of a townland boundary with Ballytrasna. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2008 and described as an oval-shaped area (20m E-W; 17m N-S) defined by the remains of a bank (Wth 5.8m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) from N-E-S-SSW, which is reduced to a scarp (Wth 9.25m; H 1.5m at N and Wth 1.5m; H 0.2m at W) from SSW-W-N. An intervening fosse (Wth 6.75m; D 0.5m) is visible from NE-ENE and from ESE-SSE and a possible outer bank (Wth 10.3m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.25m) is evident at NE and from ESE-SSE. The interior is grass covered and slightly uneven. Monument is visible as a roughly oval-shaped cropmark on OSi orthimage taken 2005-2012, Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013, however is best seen on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
See attached sketch plan and cross-section surveyed and drawn by the ASI in 2008 and Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
