What is recorded here

According to Barry (1916-19, 9) 'in the south end of the townland of Ballybricken North there are remains of an ancient derc or Pagan burial ground, now called Killeen, where unpaptised children were, until recently, buried.' Exact location of this burial ground could not be established, however may be within the vicinity of Killeen House according to local information. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
