In elevated pasture with excellent views in all directions. Identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1987 and listed for deletion in Bruff files. The site was subjected to archaeological testing by Rose M. Cleary (Licence No. 05E981) when it was described as following; ‘Site 22:214 was recorded by the Archaeological Survey as an enclosure and initially detected from aerial photographs. It is now not perceptible on the ground. Test excavation established an enclosing ditch on the site and uncovered the upper surface of a small pit. Both the ditch and pit are of unknown date’ (www.excavations.ie, Site No. 984; Cleary 2008, 245). Surveyed by ASI in 2000 when no trace of the enclosure was visible. The possible outline of monument visible as a sub-circular shaped area of vegetation on Google Earth orthoimage dated 26/06/2018.
