Ballynacarrig or Rockstown Church ruins stand in NE corner of graveyard (LI022-019002-) described in 1840 as following; 'This church, which, in older times, was a friary, is now a ruin, overgrown with ivy. It is about 40 feet [12m] long by 20 feet [6m] wide, and is about 6 feet [1.8m] high. Attached to it is a graveyard, with some trees planted in and about it' (OSNB, 707). A stone plaque in the church wall reads: Here rests what remains of James Barry of Friarstown and his wife Anatisa 5th in descent of David Barry of same, 1655.
