What is recorded here

On a slight E-facing slope, in gently undulating pasture, situated 115m to N of the townland with Ballinveala, with moderate to good views in all directions. Enclosure (LI022-004----) 95m to N. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork. Partially levelled monument shown on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as an L-shaped area enclosed by an earthen bank from N-E-SE only. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2000 and described as a slightly raised rectangular-shaped area (32m E-W; 30m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4.1m; int. H 0.4; ext. H 0.6m) to N and E and which is incorporated into a field boundary to S and W. Bank is breached by a modern gap (Wth 6m) at NE. Monument is visible as a roughly rectangular-shaped tree-planted earthwork on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
