In pasture on a slight SSW-facing slope, with good views in all directions, tree-lined avenue 70m to running S towards Caherass Court 465m to S. Located 360m NE of the River Maigue and the townland boundary with Dunnaman. Fishpond (LI021-086---) 360m to N and possible barrow (LI021-088----) 120m to SE. Depicted as a small circular shaped copse of trees on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map and not as an antiquity. Shown as a tree-ring or landscape demesne feature on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. Inspected by the ASI in 2001 when it was described as a circular area (int. diam. 15.5m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by an earth and stone scarped edge with inner lip (bank) with an external fosse. The interior is not raised, slopes slightly to the SSW, is dry and clear of dense vegetation. The bank is low (Wth 2.6m; int. D 0.4m; ext. D 0.6m) and drops gradually into the fosse (base Wth 1.1m; overall Wth 4.36m; int. D 0.6m; ext. D 0.1m), the bank and fosse are present on all sides of the enclosure. The site is visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
