What is recorded here

In pasture, atop low rise on gentle undulating terrain. Oval area (41m N-S; 46m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.6m). External bank height increases NE->S to compensate for fall away in terrain. Bank best preserved S->W, but has been eroded NE->ENE becoming scarp-like. Entrance (Wth 3m) at SSE. Field boundaries abut site at NE and ESE. Low dry-stone field wall runs along external base of bank at NE; similar wall depicted on 1923 OS 6-inch map along SE arc has since been removed. Interior, under pasture, slopes down gently to SW. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
