What is recorded here

The precise location of a medieval rabbit warren mentioned in 13th century documents belonging to Kilcosgrave Castle (LI019-109----) has not been identified. Westropp (1906-7, 245) recorded the following details about Kilcosgrove (Cill Choscráin) Castle and rabbit warren; '1299 The heirs of W. Roth dean under T. f. Gerald held Kilcosgrau; the rabbits in its warren were destroyed by foxes (C.S.P.L)'. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 3 December 2020

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
