In rough pasture 110m S of a public road and 85m W of the townland boundary with Knocknabooly Middle. Not depicted on the OS maps. Children's Burial Ground identified in 2005 by Emmet Byrnes, archaeologist, Forestry Service, Department of Agriculture and Food, during approval stage of a proposed afforestation project. Described in 2005 as ‘a low sub-triangular grass covered flattish mound or platform, approximately 17m in length, 12m in width and about 0.5m to 0.6m in height. The field boundary, some 5m to the south of the platform, would appear to have been removed at some stage in the relatively recent past as the line of the original ditch and bank are very evident’ (SMR File). The raised area is clearly visible on Google Earth orthoimages.
