The precise location of a mill in the townland of Caherconlish has not been identified. This mill site was described by Lynch (1911-13, 27) as following; 'the second mill of Caherconlish was near the R.I.C. Barracks. Both mills are marked on the Down Survey Map'. Only one mill is depicted in Knockatanacashlane on the Down Survey map of Clanwilliam Barony (Hib. Reg.) and on the Down Survey map of Caherconlish parish (NLI, MS 718).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
