The precise location of Ballysheeda Castle has not been identified. Westropp (1906-07, 88) recorded the following details about Ballysheedy Castle; '1607 Jas. Fox, C[astle]. of Ballysheeda (Inq. Chan., 378), also in 1655 (C.S., xxix., p. 35)'.
