What is recorded here

Situated on the summit of a low ridge, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. The monument is depicted on the 1924 OS six-inch map as a sub-circular area (diam c. 30m E-W) enclosed by two banks and an intervening fosse. The enclosure is now obscured by dense scrub vegetation and much of it is inaccessible. It appears to be a sub-circular area defined by a scarped edge (H greater than 2m; Wth 6.2m) which is embellished at the top by a slight bank (Wth 0.8m; int. H 0.4m), and with an external fosse (Wth 1m) and an external bank (Wth 0.8m; int. H 1.1m) which has been partially incorporated into the surrounding field boundary system.
