What is recorded here

Situated immediately E of a field boundary which runs N-S along a road. The monument is heavily masked by deciduous tree vegetation at its extremities and a dense cover of nettles and brambles in the interior. It is depicted on the1924 OS 6-inch map as a roughly square area (c. 40m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by a bank and external fosse. It survives as a rectangular area enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; Wth 2.1m; ext. H 2m), more substantial to the S and E. There is a gap in the bank at NW (Wth 2m) and there is a possible entrance causeway at N (Wth 7.5m). The fosse (Wth. 2m; ext. H 0.1m) is most evident on the N. E and S sides. The interior is strewn with loose stones and slopes down gently to NE. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 28 March 2013
