What is recorded here

In pasture, on slight W facing slope, 50m NW of ringfort (LI012-019----). The 1840 OS 6-inch map depicts a field boundary to the immediate E that respects the curve of the enclosing element and suggests a possible outer ditch. Present remains consist of a raised roughly circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 29m) enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.9m; base Wth. 3.6m). The interior is level. A field boundary running N-S intersects the bank at E. Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/03/2017 shows a well defined enclosing element with traces of an outer ditch clearly visible at N. See attached Google Earth orthoimages taken 25/03/2017 and 19/11/2019 Compiled by: Martin Fitzpatrick Date upload: 18 June 2020
