Chapel on Aughinish Island mentioned in 15th and 16th century documents, but site has been forgotten (Westropp 1904-5, 396).
Westropp recorded the following details about Aughinish Church; 'Achinis chapel, 1410, Agnasse
Insula in par de Monasterio Negaylah, 1586 (Peyton, 173); Athnes, 1589 (Jobson's map, MSS., T.C.D., 1209, No. 36). Site - Forgotten on the Island.
