On level ground, at the base of a NE-facing slope, leading down to the floodplain of the Groody River, which is c. 220m to E. Standing stone (LI005-074----) located c. 160m to NW. Not depicted on OS historic mapping. Discovered during monitoring of topsoil stripping associated with the construction of the Castletroy distributor road (Cummins 2004). Described in 2004 as a roughly circular-shaped spread (9m E-W; 9m N-S; T 0.03m) of heat-shattered stone in a black soil matrix (ibid, 11). Visible as a dark oval-shaped cropmark on Google Earth orthoimage taken 19/11/2019.
