Discovered prior to road construction in 2000 (Excavation Licence 00E0944), however a substantial portion of the site was damaged by heavy machinery prior to excavation. Two sections of a curving ditch, possibly an enclosure (estimated diam. 14m) were uncovered. There was a gap of 2.5m between the two sections, possibly an entrance. An 8m stretch of the northern section had an average Wth of 1.3m and D of 0.5m. A 6m stretch of the second section had an average Wth of 1.9m and D of 0.6m. A large quantity of struck flint was recovered from both sections. A bowl furnace (diam. 0.47m; D 0.18m) filled with slag was located c. 6m to the N of this possible enclosure. (Campbell 2002, 243-4)
