What is recorded here

Pre-development excavations (Excavation Licence 99E0242) at this location uncovered the remains of two low wattle walls, a series of plank and post timbers forming a wharf and jetty, and an associated path. These are interpreted as defining a riverside burgage plot of late 12th to early 13th century date. The remains were discovered below reclamation deposits of 13th and 14th century date.
