The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Drystone-built souterrain, consisting of a passage (overall L 10.2m, Wth 1m, H 1m) which runs NNW-SSE (L 5.6m) then turns at right angles E-W (L 4.6m) and terminated in a circular beehive chamber (diam. 4m, H 2m). The passage is blocked by collapse at the SSE (CLAJ 1974, 110-11). Now inaccessible.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
