Marked on the 1912 'OS 6-inch' map as 'St. Feighin's Well'. Located at the foot of an ash tree on sloping ground. Described in the OS Letters as 'a shed built of stones covered with green sods…Its waters are contained in a metal pan, around which is a circular stone-work raised a few inches above the ground' (CLAJ 1919-20, 335). Described in 1966 (ASI field report) as a small stone structure (L 2.27m; Wth 0.8m; max H 0.8m) within which were four steps which led down to a circular metal container set into the floor. Local tradition that the water turns to wine for three minutes on Christmas Day and that a girl in white appears (ASI field report, dated 2 August 1966).
