Discovered prior to road construction (Excavation Licence No. 00E0905). A structure (3.5m x 3m) was defined by four post-pits and surrounded by nine post-pits that formed an oval shape (max. diam. 6.5m). The excavator (Ó Drisceoil 2003, 256) suggests that this structure may have functioned as a Timber Circle. This structure and four others (see LH021-071----, LH021-080----, LH021-082---- and LH021-083----) appeared to have both domestic and ritual functions. A large assemblage of artefacts was recovered from the area of the five structures including 238 sherds of Grooved Ware which represented at least 23 individual pots, 30 flint scrapers, a large collection of flint débitage, a fragment of a polished stone axe and a small quantity of burnt bone. (Ó Drisceoil 2003, 255-7)
