What is recorded here

Situated in a gently undulating landscape. This is a sub-circular area (int. dims 48m E-W, 44.5m N-S) bounded by a very slight scarp. The monument is extensively ploughed down. It is visible as a cropmark of a circular area defined by two fosse features on OSI images (1995). See the attached view from OSI (1995) The above description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 17 July 2007 Revised: 15 September 2020
