The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Oval platform area (int. dims. c. 39m E-W, 33m N-S) enclosed by a much degraded earthen bank, now reduced to a scarp (H 2.3-3m). The scarp has traces of a drystone facing, but it is unclear whether this is ancient. Rock-cut fosse (Wth 5.5m, D 1.3m) at base of platform at W-NW. Probable ancient entrance at E represented by a depression (Wth 3.4m) in the scarp.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
