The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Situated at S end of a slight rise in undulating countryside. Oval interior (max. dims. 36m E-W, 26.5m N-S) with two banks and an intervening and inner fosse extending in an arc from WSW-NE, thereby cutting off the interior from the ridge to the N. Traces of inner bank visible on N. On other sides there is a steep scarp which acts as natural protection. There are traces of banks abutting the outer bank at various places, which may be interpreted as traces of an ancient field system.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
