What is recorded here

Immediately to the S of the Cistercian abbey (LF023-113----). This roughly rectangular graveyard (c. 60m N-S; c. 55m E-W) is defined by a stone wall. Memorials date from the 17th to the 20th centuries. It is no longer in use. A laneway at its NE corner accesses a burial ground (LF023-113002-), c. 20m to the NE, within which a possible cross-slab (LF023-113003-), four late medieval gravelsabs (LF023-113004-, LF023-113010-, LF023-113011-, LF023-113012-), an architectural fragment (LF023-113005-) and a 17th-century graveslab (LF023-113007-) are located. A high cross (LF023-113006-), that was formerly located here, is now in the sacristy of the church (RC) in Abbeyshrule (see LF023-129----). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 4 June 2013
