Originally recorded as roundwoods with occasional brushwood and split timber. Excavation in 2002 revealed a platform (exposed L 8m; Wth 2.6m) consisting of five distinct layers of parallel roundwood and brushwood, with a date range of 50 BC-AD 130 (Whitaker 2009, 53). The various layers were constructed at different angles to each another. Three parallel roundwoods (diam. 0.051-0.083m) and several irregularly laid small pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.003-0.026m) c. 0.5m to the S of the S elements were likely to be associated. All had toolmarked ends. Short lengths of a togher (LF022-158002-) ran both to the E and W from the platform. (Whitaker 2004a, 249; 2004e, 350-51)
