Originally recorded as a spread of roundwood and brushwood chips exposed in the drain face. The elements were orientated N-S along the line of the drain. Excavation in 2002 revealed a fairly substantial platform structure (overall L 15m, Wth 5m). Because the monument was considerably longer that it was wide it was classified as a togher although it did not have a typical togher construction. The remains were composed of mostly transverse roundwood and brushwood which comprised a number of layers, 'Context 5' being the most substantial. Two split planks were recorded in this layer and many of the roundwoods had toolmarked ends. Pegs were also evident. The main point of excavation revealed the surface to be uneven and trapezoidal in plan. Excavation yielded a date range of 770-400 BC (Whitaker 2009, 56). (Whitaker 204b, 349-50)
