What is recorded here

Originally recorded as a small area of a hurdle (exposed L 2.9m; Wth 2m) on the field surface which was being milled (Dunne 1999, 12, 99LBW0032A). Excavation revealed the hurdle to be aligned WSW-ENE and constructed of five sails with woven rods. It rested on an oak roundwood (L 2m), orientated ENE-WSW (Dunne 2002m, 206-7). The evidence suggested that this was most likely to be the remains of a platform. Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by Jane Whitaker, Archaeological Development Services. Date of upload: 26 August 2011
