What is recorded here

A togher (Wth 1.4m; D 0.15m), orientated NNW-SSE, consisting of a loosely constructed superstructure of hazel roundwood (av. diam. 0.07m) supported by hazel brushwood (av. diam. 0.02m). It appeared to have been exposed to the elements for some time before it was covered over with peat. Toolmarks were present. Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by the former Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit, University College, Dublin. Date of upload: 26 August 2011
