Originally recorded as a band of small and large brushwood, along with twigs, that was exposed on the field surface and was being milled (Dunne 1999, 43, 99DD0009A). All of the pieces of brushwood were aligned WNW-ESE except one transverse example, which seemed to overlie the longitudinal elements. It was best preserved at WNW, where approximately 30 tightly packed pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.05m) were present. Excavation revealed the remains (exposed L 5.6m; Wth 2.9m) as being composed of two layers. The upper layer (Wth 0.5-0.73m) consisted of a band of longitudinal small brushwood, which was supported by transverse brushwood (L 2.9m). The lower layer (Wth 1.08m) consisted of longitudinal brushwood and twigs (Dunne 2002d, 204).
