Excavation of this togher (L 90m min.; Wth 2.1m; D 0.15m) revealed a substructure of longitudinal, half-split oak planks supported on transverse timbers and longitudinal, oak and ash roundwood (av. diam. 0.1m). Pegs of hazel, ash and birch were evident throughout the structure but most were positioned along the edges of the planks. The superstructure consisted of longitudinal, ash and hazel brushwood (diam. 0.04-0.055m), which had clear evidence of coppicing. Dendrochronological dating of several planks yielded a felling date of 974 BC (Q8498). The togher was orientated NW-SE (Moloney et al. 1993, 33-6).
