What is recorded here

Associated with the fortified house (LF017-009003-). An armorial plaque bearing the family coat of arms of Sir George Lane and dated 1667 was formerly located above the archway of the S gatehouse of the bawn (LF017-009001-). It commemorated the refurbishment of the house and the construction of the new gateway and was in situ in 1944 (ITA Survey). In 1973 (SMR file) it was recorded as lying on the ground inside the gatehouse. It is no longer evident at this location. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 13 June 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
