What is recorded here

Archaeological monitoring of a large-scale commercial development in 2003 resulted in the identification of a number of archaeological features (Read 2006, 319-20). One brunt mound (dims. 9.1m x 8.4m) consisting of a subcircular area of fire-cracked stones in a charcoal-enriched black sandy clay was outside the immediate development area and was preserved in situ under five layers, including two layers of geotextile terram (Ó Maoldúin 2004).
