First identified in 2001 during topsoil-stripping in advance of a quarry extension, this fulacht fia was excavated (Site 1) in 2004. The mound (L 3m; Wth 3m; D 0.3m) of heat-shattered stones overlay an unusually large trough (L 2.5m; Wth 2m; D 0.35m). There were post-holes in the four corners of the trough. These may have been part of a shelter covering or surrounding the trough (Read 2006b, 321; 2007b, 254). A burnt spread lies c. 50m to the SSW.
