What is recorded here

An inquisition in 1632 (Anon. 1826, Inq. 12 Car 1) records ‘a watermill’. Its precise location has not been identified. It is possible that the ‘Old Corn Mill’ shown on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map on the N bank of the Camlin River, c. 60m to the S of St John’s church (LF013-026001-), may have been built on its site or incorporate part of it. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 7 February 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
