What is recorded here

On a rise in wet, low-lying pasture. Depicted as a rectangular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. On the 1914 edition only a line of hachures (L c. 30m), running WNW-NNE, possibly indicating the NW side of the monument is shown. A report in 1975 (SMR file) noted that no visible surface trace survived. However, a field bank overgrown with trees visible on an OSi aerial photograph (2010) may incorporate the line of the NW side. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 7 November 2012
