What is recorded here

On a SW-facing slope in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 28.4m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 5.1m; H 0.1-0.45m). From WSW–N–ENE the circuit of the bank has been straightened and its outer face has been incorporated into a field boundary. A large mound of earth has been piled up against it from N–NE–ENE. At the external base of the bank from ENE–E–S a modern laneway obscures any evidence of a fosse. A report in 1975 (SMR file) suggested that the original entrance may have been at E but this feature is no longer identifiable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 22 November 2011
