What is recorded here

On a low rise in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 37m) enclosed by a substantial bank of earth and stone (Wth 5.3-5.7m; H 1.25-1.55m) with an intervening fosse (Wth 6.1m; D 0.1-0.85m), which has been infilled from NNE–E-ESE, and an outer bank (Wth 4.6-5.3m; H 0.6-1.6m) from ESE–S–SW and from NW–NNW–N. A modern field drain is evident at the external base of the outer bank. A break in the inner bank at ENE probably marks the original entrance. Compiled by: Patrick F.
