At the base of a SW-facing slope in pasture. Gorteen Lough is c. 160m to the W. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. An earlier report (SMR file, 1975) recorded a low, irregular rise here. The monument has been levelled and is not visible at ground level.
