In pasture on a SSW-facing slope at the S limits of Ballinalee (LF009-023----), within the E half of a graveyard (LF009-023004-). It has been suggested that St John's (C of I) church (built 1820) may have been constructed upon the site of an earlier church (Bradley et al. 1985, 12). According to Bradley et al. (1985, 12), the crudely constructed basal course, at the E end of the church, may denote the foundations of an earlier building. Otherwise no visible surface trace survives.
