What is recorded here

Situated on fairly level ground on the W shore of Lough Errew. Archaeological monitoring (03E1761) over a wide area W and N of Lough Errew identified numerous archaeological features that could be preserved in situ, including this double line of posts (L 30m E-W) placed 0.85-1.2m apart. The posts (diam. 0.06-0.16m; L 0.1-0.78m) were embedded in peat at the water’s edge and extended W towards dry land. Some had companion stakes and some penetrated to the marl beneath. No artefacts were recovered in relation to them. (Read 2004, 8, No. 3) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 8 January 2020
