What is recorded here

Located on a WNW-facing slope in improved pasture. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is a subrectangular area (dims. 34m ENE-WSW; 30m NNW-SSE) defined by a scarp on the S, W and N-sides. It is best preserved at S (Wth 3.9m; H 0.7m), but there is no evidence of a fosse or entrance anywhere, although it may be a rath. The E side is defined by a wide, flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 5.1m; Wth of top 2.2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.95m) with an outer drain (Wth of top 3.55m; Wth of bas 0.85m; D 1m), which forms the townland boundary with Dromore and is the boundary of a coniferous forest.
