Situated in a low-lying position with a shore of Lough Corry on the River Shannon c. 60m to the SE. This is depicted as a small triangular field on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map and on the 1945 revision. It is an overgrown oval area (int. dims c. 20m N-S; c. 15m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.6m; H 0.25m). It has no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance but it is known locally as a ‘fort’
