What is recorded here

There is a reference to a St Patrick's Well in Clooney townland at the very edge of Keshcarrigan Lake, which was often covered by the lake water. There were no stations or pattern held at the well at the time (Faughnan 1944). There are no further references to this well, not even in the Schools Manuscripts, and if it exists it remains unlocated. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 13 April, 2017

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
