Located in deep water near the centre of the sub-triangular (dims c. 700m NNW-SSE; c. 500m NE-SW) northern part of Carrickaport Lough, which has its apex at S. This is an overgrown subcircuarl island (dims 18.5m NNW-SSE; 15m E-W; H 1m) with no visible surface evidence of artificial construction.
