What is recorded here

Located towards the bottom of a W-facing slope in Killarga village. Marked on the 1835 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. This is a circular stone-built chamber (int. diam. 1.9m) with a destroyed entrance at NE. It is built on a plinth (Wth 0.4-0.9m; H 0.4-1.2m) which is visible SE-NW, but there is no mound and the top of the chamber is destroyed. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 September 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
