What is recorded here

Situated in a low-lying landscape. This is a D-shaped grass and rush-covered subcircular area (dim. c. 25m E-W) defined by a grass-covered bank (Wth 3-4.3m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.9-1.1m) with an external fosse indicated by a band of rushes (Wth 2.5m). Both features only survive E-SW and fade into the slope NW-E, while the monument is truncated by a N-S field bank at W. The original entrance is not identified. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 September 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
